To create an app password in Gmail, you'll need to first enable 2-Step Verification for your Google account. Then, you can generate an app password from your Security settings. Here's how:


Step 1: Enable 2-Step Verification

  • Go to your Google Account settings, then navigate to Security and enable 2-Step Verification.

Step 2: Go to App Passwords

  • Within the Security settings, find and click on "App Passwords".

Step 3: Select App and Device

  • Choose the app you're using (e.g., "Other" for a non-Google app) and the device type (e.g., "Windows" or "Mac").

Step 4: Generate Password

  • Click "Generate" and a unique app password will be displayed.

Step 5: Copy and Use

  • Copy the generated password and use it within the app or device where you need it.
